Thanks for your paid subscriber support! After years of navigating anxiety, I've gathered some recommendations for products that help me stay present and calm.


After oodles of champagne on Sundays, whiskey every winter, and margaritas all summer long, I finally had to face what my anxiety was trying to tell me: alcohol and I weren't the best match. Those morning-after jitters, thought loops that wouldn't quit, and the way my sleep would crumble - it was all adding up.

I tried dry January (mostly to recover from that October-to-New-Years celebration spiral), and now here I am in February, annoyingly thriving. It's both exhilarating and disappointing to feel this good—I love a good drink. But there's no denying this spark growing in my chest each day - the kind that comes from actually sleeping, having patience that doesn't waver, thoughts that stay calm, and energy for days.

Thankfully, it's a pretty amazing time to be exploring alcohol-free living. Here are five good things that have made this transition enjoyable.
